I would like to see an explanation of what APICS ‘IS’ on the Tri-State APICS page … or perhaps a link to http://www.apics.org. We need our mission statement to be clear for possible new members. Thanks.
Cyndi, thanks for asking. APICS is The Association for Operations Management and the tag line is advancing productivity, innovation and competitive success. What does this mean? APICS is a non-profit international organization. The APICS mission statement according to their website is “APICS builds knowledge and skills in operations management professionals to enhance and validate abilities and accelerate careers. We help our members and their organizations successfully compete and build a stronger global economy.” You may visit their website at http://www.apics.org. (A hyperlink is on the bottom of this page.) The Tri-State chapter mission statement is “dedicated to enhancing individual and organizational success by providing learning and networking opportunities in operations management while encouraging chapter participation.” What makes our chapter different is we are trying new and innovation methods for education and training to extend our reach beyond the Chattanooga metro area. Hope this answers your post. Thanks! Deb
