<p><strong>Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management â€“ </strong>This section addresses the fundamental concepts used for effective SCM and will provide the foundation for the APICS CSCP exam. It includes an overview of SCM concepts and the need to align resources with the strategy of the organization. Management and improvement of the supply chain are addressed.</p>
<p><strong>Topics include: </strong>Supply Chain Management (SCM) Concepts, Alignment with Business Strategy, Design and Improvement Considerations, Inventory Management, Logistics Fundamentals, Market Segmentation, Demand Planning, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Supply Management Concepts.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Supply Chain Strategy, Design, and Compliance â€“ </strong>This section addresses considerations in the design of a competitive supply chain, the processes that support the organizations strategy, improvement of the sustainability of the organization and its trading partners, and compliance with applicable regulations.</p>
<p><strong>Topics include: </strong>Sustainability, Risk Management, Globalization, Logistics, Managing the Supply Chain, Technology, Influencing and Prioritizing Demand, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), and Inventory Planning and Control</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Implementation and Operations â€“ </strong>This section addresses managing and balancing supply and demand by measuring, analyzing, and improving supply chain processes.</p>
<p><strong>Topics include: </strong>Supply Chain Dynamics, Managing Supply from Internal Sources, Managing Supply from External Sources, Implementation of Demand Plans, Continuous Improvement,.</p>

<p>This course will include the study materials recommended by APICS, including one year access to the LearnCSCP.com website with the Pre-test, tests for each Module and a Post-test, for self-assessment.</p>

<p>The Tri-State APICS Chapter welcomes all members and their families to our annualÂ chapter social night.Â This year we will be gathering to watch the <a href="http://chattanoogafc.com/" target="_blank">Chattanooga Football Club</a>Â take on the <a href="http://www.mysoccerusa.com/" target="_blank">Myrtle Beach FC</a> on June 9, 2012. <p>TheÂ  Chapter will be providing the tickets and a group tent to gather under. More details forthecoming on meal plans. <p>Cheryl Overmeyer, Black Belt in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Process Improvement Processes (Kaizen events). She has held positions from 3rd shift Machine Operator, General Manager to Purchasing Director. Currently Contract Manager for all industrial Gases, Hydrated Lime and Ammonia for TVA which equates to 4 of the 6 suppliers deemed as strategic for her organization. She has the ability to de- mystify complex processes to the simplest form to encourage change and improvement.</p>

<p>Your Tri-State APICS Chapter is proud to offer a tour of the Volkswagen Chattanooga plant. There is no charge and the tour will last 1-2 hours.</p>
<p>Only 19 people can be on the tour. In order to enforce this restriction, registration will be done ONLY using our online registration system. In order to meet the needs of our APICS membership, please register only APICS members at this time. Future tours may be able to include non-members.</p>

<p>Tour Rules</p>

<li>Cameras and Camera Phones areÂ not permitted. Cell phones <strong>MUST BE TURNED OFF </strong>during the tour. <strong></strong></li>
<li><strong>Solid shoes must be worn.Â </strong>No flip flops, high heels, open toes shoes.</li>
<li>Long pants must be worn, no shorts, dresses or skirts.</li>
<li>A list of first and last names of participants must be provided 48 hours prior to your tour.</li>
<li>Please note any special needs of a participant such as a need for a wheelchair.</li>
<li><strong>All participants must be at least 14 years old. </strong></li>
<li>Group size cannot exceed 19 people</li>

<p>Follow I-75Â to Chattanooga. Take Exit 9 for Volkswagen Drive. At the light, turn left onto Volkswagen Drive. At the traffic circle, take the <strong>3<sup>rd</sup></strong> exit and continue on Volkswagen Drive. At the second traffic circle, take the <strong>1<sup>ST</sup> </strong>exit. Turn right and continue to Visitor Parking on left.</p>

<span style="font-size: small;">Our speaker Mark Crowder will be discussing the trials and tribulations of international procurement from first-hand experience.</span><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: small;">Â  Mark Crowder is a Senior Program Manager for Tennessee Valley Authorityâ€™s Supply Chain, He oversees strategy design and implementation of strategic supplier management within a large multi-unit supply chain organization with more than 330 buyers and $3.5 billion in spend.Â  He has more than 20 years of international procurement leadership experience, including global sourcing and procurement process assessment, design, and implementation within leading food service, technology, consumer goods, and manufacturing companies.Â  In addition, he has lived and/or worked in more than 15 countries in the Pacific Rim, Western Europe, and Latin America.Â  He is also a C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) and Six-Sigma (Green Belt) certified.Â  </span></span>

<p>Please join the Tri-State APICS chapter for an evening with Rhonda Beasley, H.R. Manager at the Roper Corporation.Â Â  Rhonda has been with Roper Corp, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE, for 25 years.Â  She has held a wide variety of roles including Site Lean Leader, Manager of Advanced Materials, Manager of O.D., H.R. Shop Relations, and Team Development Specialist.</p>
<p>Rhonda will be sharing her extensive knowledge in the field of Lean Manufacturing and sharing topics related to Roper Corpâ€™s. continuous improvement journey.</p>
<p>There is a $5 cover charge for the event. You may pay at the event or when registering. Dinner is on your own check. We are ordering off of the main menu. Register below.</p>
